#96 Come what MAY

Here's a glimpse of the most eventful month (event wise) for this semester.

I...

ate tons of food during the dimsum session I had with my friends,
went to Meeples with my friends (first session of the year),
watched this super awesome movie in IMAX 3D,
performed during the annual dance concert at uni
auditioned for this,
went for Russel Peters (pardon the poor quality of this picture man),
celebrated my dad's birthday,
went for the KL Towerthon sponsored by KICKOUT ...
survived 800m uphill and 2058 steps (100 floors)...
and got this,
ate 10 color plates at Zanmai...
just to get this!
After all of the above, it's time for me to bid farewell to enjoying myself as it's time for me to welcome with open arms my dear PSY 3041, PSY 2031, MKW 2402 and ATS 2499 books (finals is in 2 weeks time :S). Hoping I don't fail anything man especially since I've back to back exams. FML

#95 When We Were 21

The first huge high school reunion in 3 years.

Here are some photos from the night :)

The huge turn out.
Old habits die hard.
Old habits die hard take #2
Colin's hairstyle for the night
My "lari-kahwin" buddy
L-R: Carol, Hui Min, Moi, Poh Yee (my table buddy, close friend)

My Childhood buddies
Colin; known him since I was 5 years old
He's the reason I've a chipped front tooth. 12 year old me crashed into his bicycle while we were racing cycling.

Meng Lee/ Jambu; Known him since I was 5 years old
I love self inviting myself over to his place to shoot hoops and also match making (not officially).

Priya; Known her since I was 7 years old
She was my study buddy during SPM. She's also my mother in law (inside joke).

Michelle (wifey); Known her since I was 9 years old
I use to refer to her as the keropok girl cause every time I saw her when we were in Standard 1 she'd be eating keropok. Hehehe.

Last but not least...

Lorac Carol; known her since I was 5 years old
I will always, always remember her as the hot dog girl (she use to eat hot dog for recess every day without fail). Other things that I remember her for is her smooth baby skin arms, legs, etc. She's now a super pro marathon runner. *envy*

I shall end this post with a very big Thank You to Basit for organizing this reunion and also making it happen!

#94 Semester Break

Yes, the moment that we've all been waiting for is finally here;

THE 1 WEEK HOLIDAY BREAK!!!

It doesn't make much of a difference to me though because I've to write a 2500 word essay over the week and unlike any essay I've written, this essay carries 50% of my final grade mark which means, if I flunk it, I will most likely flunk my finals. :( Something I do not want at all.

Yesterday was sort of like our (my friends and I) mini celebration before the 'holidays' start. We celebrated by fulfilling our steamboat craving @ Yuan Buffet Steamboat Restaurant. After eating all that we can/could eat, it's safe to say that we won't be eating steamboat for a really, really long time.

Below are some pictures taken by moi :)

Casually waiting for a bigger table as we did not make a reservation
Super candid shot of us; except for Elaine. Hehehe
Shakie poo doo anticipating food ;p
cows <3
This is what I fished out from the buffet table
Look what's cooking
A shot of the bf and Shakie kia-su-ly waiting for the BBQ chicken to be ready.
BBQ Chicken that everybody seems to be crazy about. :O
Elaine, Shakie & I pretending to be alright but truth be told, we were super bloated when this picture was taken.
They also have ice cream as part of the buffet! ;D
Survivors of the night
That's all folks! ;-p

#93 The Vow

Thank you Nuffnang for giving me the opportunity to catch the screening of this movie;

about two weeks ago (yes this is a way overdue post ;p). I'm really glad I got to watch this movie for free, it kind of compensates watching this movie much later than those in the US and Canada (it actually aired there in February for Valentine's Day).

This is by far the first not so pack movie screening I've been to. Also, the first Nuffnang movie screening of the year for moi :B. I think the last set of movie screenings I've went to was way back in 2009.

Anyhoo, back to the movie. I'm not going to spoil the movie for you guys, you can click here to read the synopsis if you've no idea what this movie is about. Overall, I'd rate this movie 6.7/10 mainly because it's not you're typical, cliche kind of chick flick. And because of that, I think some guys (not all) might enjoy watching this movie with their girlfriends (I've to test it out by making my boyfriend watch it with me during the holidays ;p). In a way, the movie relates to what most couples go through in their relationship; moment wise (i.e. the first encounter, the first date), not the whole losing the memory part. It makes you cherish everything you have with your loved ones right now (be it boyfriend/ girlfriend, parents..). Besides that, the movie was also based on a true story which I found far more tragic and sad but at the same time touching. However, personally, I don't think I'd ever want to be in a relationship based on solely choice. You'll get what I mean if you read the real story.

Oh and before I forget, Rachel McAdams looked super gorgeous throughout the movie!!! :D And after catching Channing Tatum on the big screen (yes, sad life I have, all his movies I've watched were on my laptop) I think Channing Tatum has horrible teeth. =-=

Snip it from the movie itself; grabbed from google image
I'm going to end this post with the trailer to this movie.

Enjoy!

#90 My Plate is Full

Considering this is my third last semester (so long as I don't flunk anything at all) I decided to be more active this semester. Take note the strong emphasis on the word 'more' because I'm not joking at all. I think I've managed to overload myself with events every day of the week (except Thursday and Sunday). I just hope I don't regret it in the future. Oh and fret not, at the moment I've got my time managed quite well as I've been consistently doing all my readings except for the PSY 3041 unit, which is a super dry (content wise, but lecturers are good) unit. And it is apparently the 'bible' / one of the core units we have to keep referring back to if we plan to venture into clinical psychology/ Phd stuff.

Enough about my future problems, here's the list of things I've got myself involved with this semester.

Monday (s)

Latin Dancing for an hour;
physio workout for my back (hopefully I start in April)

Tuesday (s)

Pole Dancing;
physio workout for my back (once again, hopefully in April; I've not taken my x-ray yet)

Wednesday (s):

Kickout (awesome workout thingy)

Friday (s):

Yoga;
physio workout for my back

Saturday (s):

Volunteer work at an old folks home;
ballet

And there you have it, my weeks to come in this semester.
I strongly believe that I can (hopefully) juggle all of this along with my studies.
Anyhoo, that's all for this super random post.
Time to prepare notes for my consumer behavior assignment.

#89 Those Were the Days

(Credits to Chok Eu-Tjin for all the pictures taken above)

There's no one I miss more than you, Xiao-Qing Lim.
In less than 4 months, you'll be home. *yay* :D
Let's do this (photoshoot thingy) again when you're back; ballet-gymnastics theme this time for the fun of it.
Oh, and looking back at this pictures, I think my fringe was really horrible, I still think I'm not photogenic, and I still think you look good. ;)
Good luck with your essay. <3

#88 My Life Thus Far

It's been approximately a fortnight since my very last update. Hehehe. I've been busy with Uni and my 43213234 assignments (I kid) the whole Valentines Day hooha (despite how cliche the whole day is) and my awesome cows birthday. :) Now that all the events have toned down, I finally have time to update. Behold...

My week, in chronological order

1. Valentines Day @ Ben's, Publika and Desa Park City. <3

#truestory
Snapshot of me which my bf took.
I'd like to point out that this is my 398409302454 attempt at applying eyeliner on my upper eyelid and it's also my first time making an appearance in public with eyeliner applied by myself on my upper eyelid. I'm sorry I just had to point that out because I'm just that thick skin and proud! :D

My awesome; cow <3
Awesome time killer; provides you with topics to talk about. #tabletopic
...and we actually did this! Some of the questions were pretty weird, and some were lame. To be the judge for yourself, you should try it one day if you do happen to pop by at Ben's. :B

Beef Lasagna <3
Hands down, the best Lasagna I've ever tasted. It's rich with cheese (but not to cheesy, which made it not too filling) and beef. I felt that they even served it in an adequate amount as it did not make me full to the stomach but comfortably full (that's my way of putting it).

Spaghetti Carbonara
This dish looks similar to Ben's 'sister' restaurant, Plan B's carbonara. However, the style the carbonara is served is kinda different. The carbonara that Ben's serve is more watery (not soup-like watery) and not as creamy as the one at Plan B. Nonetheless, it tasted awesome. :)

Rocky Road Cake
 This tasted super AWESOMEEEEEE.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Below are some shots I took at Desa Park City. :)

Sunset

My bf booked this whole park for me. Hence, you see no signs of life in any of my pictures. Hehehe... Jealous much? I kid. It was actually a really huge park, so it took time for us to actually bump into people.

And last but not least, my awesome Valentines Day present!

DIY Starbucks lamp.
2. Chibi came home!!!

3. Boyfriend's birthday

(Pictures from the day we spent together are still in my camera. Here are some pictures from my iPhone though).

Bf with the deformed pancakes I made him.
I really can't cook. :(

Birthday boy with his birthday cake.
Boyfriend and his high school friends.
Cake on the left; a normal slice of cake.
Cake on the right; abnormal slice of cake.
The significance of this picture is that it serves as solid prove of the amount of cake my boyfriend and I had to consume on that day. I'm going to ask a rhetorical question now. Guess which cake my boyfriend and I had to eat? Hehe.

4. Met my boyfriend's college friends.

Picture taken from his friend Aishah's facebook.
I hate how tongue tied and silent I get among people I am not really familiar with. :(

5. Picked up the 'descendant' of William Shakespeare from the airport; Shakespeare.

The sign really meant to say Shakespeare and not Shake Arrow.

Shakie, moi and Rocky. <3
6. Sleepover + Skype session with twin <3
we also did a face mask!
7. Shopping trip (only for Shakie because I window shopped) and spontaneous running in the rain session

Moi with Shakie's bags.
PS: Check out my new Rm5 nail polish I just bought :B
Moi with Shakie's bags; Take #2
Spontaneous tea @ Ben's; Ben's Cake. SUPER YUMMY!!!
Dear Chocolate cake,
Why do you taste so good and at the same time, why are you so bad for my thighs and tummy and weight?

8. Collected my lomo pictures.

Here are the best two pictures I took. :( #suchanoobiam

Seriously, if you're (yes you reading this!) good at lomography, please...please...please leave some pointers in my comment box on how I can improve myself. :(

9. Got my finalized time table

10. Established that I am #foreveralone at my ballet class

This could be to due to the age gap of 5-6 years and the fact that I stick out like a sore thumb at class. I literally look like a dinosaur next to all of those skinny girls. And here's more solid prove. I said 'hello' and smiled to this girl who is in my class while we waited for the lift and I got no response. :( Sad. Oh well, here's to my non-existence at ballet. At least...my teacher notices and corrects me for my mistakes.

11. I've decided to get more fit and tone and also put aside (and ignore) my horrible back problems.

Basically, I asked Elaine whether she wants to join pole dancing. hahaha.

And there you have it, my life thus far.
:))
